Pesando café en una balanza de precisión

How much coffee do I need for each coffee pot?

The grams of coffee that you use to prepare your coffee are key to obtaining a tasty result

At Orígenes Coffee Roaster we have a specific recipe for each coffee maker, we share them with you so that you can enjoy a barista-style coffee at home every day. Keep in mind that you must be precise, and measure both the number of grams of coffee and the milliliters of water that are needed to prepare coffee in the different types of coffee makers.

Drip filter coffee maker : This is one of the most common and easy to use coffee makers in homes. To obtain good coffee, use approximately 50 grams of ground coffee for every liter of water. However, this ratio can be adjusted according to your preference and desired intensity. Italian coffee pot : The capacity of a mocha or Italian coffee pot is determined by the size of the filter where the coffee is placed. Be sure to fill the filter without pressing the coffee. The water must be hot before adding the coffee and must reach the valve on the coffee maker. Then, set the coffee pot to medium heat and turn it off when the coffee has risen halfway, allowing the rest to rise with the heat off.

Chemex-type coffee maker : For this coffee maker, it is recommended to use between 7 and 10 grams of coffee for every 30 ml of water. As in the filter coffee maker, the ideal proportion is 16 grams of water per gram of coffee or 60 grams per liter.

French coffee maker : This French press coffee maker produces a very aromatic cup of coffee in a short time. The usual thing is to use 60 grams of coarsely ground coffee for every liter of water, or for every two cups of coffee. If you want a stronger coffee, you can add more coffee.

Remember that these are our recipes, based on our taste and that you can adjust the quantities according to your personal preferences.

In our store you can find different coffee makers and we indicate the perfect pairing between them and the coffees we offer so that your cup of coffee is exquisite.
