What coffee do I use for this coffee extraction method?
The preparation with this coffee maker is very simple, only a few variables need to be controlled and in less than 10 minutes you will obtain a rich cup of coffee.
The coffee to use of course influences the flavor, but if you use a specialty coffee like the ones we have available in our store , you will get a cafeteria coffee at home. But which is the most indicated? All the coffees that we offer in the store are excellent to make in the French press coffee maker, we only recommend depending on your tastes to choose the coffee that highlights the flavor notes that you most desire.
Once the coffee is selected, you only have to pay attention to its grinding so as not to find coffee particles in the cup. This occurs when the grind is very fine and the coffee passes through the metal mesh of the filter. Remember that if you grind it at home, you should select a coarse grind, and if you order it ground, clarify that you prefer it ground for French press.
How is the preparation method?
If you have a small 350ml coffee maker, the recommended amount of coffee is usually 20 grams; if it is a 500ml coffee maker, then approximately you will need between 28-30 grams; and finally, if it is a liter, around 55-60 grams.
You just have to heat the water to a temperature between 88ºC and 94ºC, and carefully pour it over the ground coffee that you have placed in the bottom of the French press jar. Then, wait a few minutes (4-6 is recommended). You will see a coffee crust form on the surface; Break it up with a spoon, stirring gently, let it rest for another minute and now, place the filter with the lid and begin to press the plunger, so that all the coffee grounds remain at the bottom.
