Maintaining the freshness of coffee is extremely important

The Orígenes Coffee Roaster team are daily coffee consumers and we believe that it is an everyday drink for coffee lovers and not so coffee lovers. That is why it is important to know that the quality of your coffee depends on the quality of its storage.

The aromatic fragrance, the smooth and tingling taste sensation it leaves in the mouth, the warmth and comfort it creates in the soul are unique. That is why maintaining its freshness is a very important aspect so that its flavor is not altered.

There are different ways to store coffee. In principle, it should be located in a place where it does not receive sunlight or have a heat source nearby, since these factors alter its flavor, freshness, and color.

At Orígenes Coffee Roaster we recommend that the place chosen, if it is in the kitchen, be away from the oven and in a cool cupboard that does not receive sunlight, the same if it is a warehouse, it must be protected from exposure to heat like sunlight.

Likewise, it is not recommended to place it in the fridge, since the temperature will cause humidity to be generated inside the container, nor is it suggested to keep it in its original packaging since the closure of the packages is not as effective once opened.

Therefore it is best to store the coffee in a vacuum-sealable container. Vacuum sealable containers can be used for both whole beans and ground coffee. This method of storage prevents air from coming into contact with the product, which helps keep your beans or ground coffee fresh longer.

At Origines Coffee Roaster we only suggest using hermetic, glass or stainless steel containers. It is important that it be made of this material to avoid any type of chemical reaction that may occur if the container is made of other types of materials. Keep in mind that if the container is made of glass, it must be protected even from exposure to sunlight.
